Our top climate protection targets include achieving 100% electricity consumption from renewable sources by 2025, offsetting 100% of all remaining Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2025, reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 40% vs. 2020 by 2030, and becoming net-zero carbon neutral by 2045. Important trends in the market for healthier product formulations free of substances of very high concern (SVHC) as well as for lower-color and water-based technologies are also on our radar. We actively collaborate with our suppliers and customers to test new, more sustainable products and obtain qualified feedback regarding critical selling features. And by continuously increasing the share of sustainable and circular solutions, we also support the efforts of customers to minimize their own Scope 3 emissions.
In Europe, we have recently introduced the ‘CO2Xplorer On-Demand,’ a certified self-service tool that provides our business partners with Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) data to promote environmentally responsible purchasing decisions. The tool has received the prestigious ICIS Best Digital Innovation Award 2024 and allows companies to assess and manage their carbon footprint more effectively and calculate CO2e emissions across the entire supply chain.
Furthermore, Brenntag has earned the highest possible EcoVadis sustainability rating in 2024 – for the second consecutive time and even with an improved score. This confirms our Platinum status among the top 1% of companies across industries for following sustainable business practices.

John Chimenti is Sales Director CASE, Brenntag North America, with more than 16 years of experience in product chemistry, technical service, key account management and sales leadership for customers across the entire value chain, from raw material suppliers to finished goods producers.
David Hazell is Market Manager Material Science, Brenntag North America, and brings a strong set of expertise to PCI customers. After many years in the development, sales and management of specialty products in CASE and construction, he recently took on a business development role focusing on epoxy and polyurethane resins, curatives and other specialties.
